It is obviously a "generic' letter and perhaps does not fit you particular experience of the last 18 months - but I think it is well meant. Not sure I can accept something that in spirit is thanking me for "staying at home" when in fact I have been as active over the past 18 months of the COVID-19 pandemic as I ever was!
I’m of the opinion the money spent on these could have been used in a more productive way!
I to am a volunteer with TVP HAD team and received the same yesterday and am happy to provide assistance in my own small way when possible ,as haveing been a police officer I can appreciate how difficult their job can be personaly this token of thanks is unexpected and much appreciatedYes, I received the same yesterday, again as part of the HAD team.
It has gone to all volunteers for Thames Valley Police, regardless of which part of the service they volunteer for.
Whilst I might share your feeling about having not personally "earned" it, I do think the idea behind it is a nice one - given that volunteers are, by definiton, unpaid I think it's good of TVP to recognise their collective efforts.
All too often I hear people, in all walks of life, complain that they volunteer and "never get shown any gratitude or receive a word of thanks". This, by contrast, is nice gesture to the wide array of people who devote time to assisting TVP because they feel it is the right thing to do.
Same as my department ! but it was only one day and to be taken after 20th Dec 2021Be grateful!
My organisation gave us two extra days off, at a time when it was impossible for most of us to use them because the extra workload and deadlines imposed by the pandemic meant that if we took them, we’d miss deadlines and therefore get penalised!

send it back and resign from the scheme if it offends you
