Never heard of this happening, the mounting arrangement appears to be fit for purpose. My club has many owners, including 338 Lapua Magnum. There are other issues with the Remington, and all other makes, but this is not one of them.
The 'scope mounting is good enough, and usefully has become pretty much an industry standard. Other makes would not have adopted it if it was no good, the pieces are readily available at sensible prices.
Though other makes have their own proprietary ideas, which may be superior, but come usually with a steep price attached.
Bolt handles, yes they can become detached, I've seen it, the Remington bolt, as with the rest of it, is cobbled together from several pieces, even the extractor is just a bent bit of wire, but still they work surprisingly well, mostly. Tinkerers and "gunsmiths" like them because there is so much that can be easily improved. I have to admire them as a piece of production/value engineering, probably worth the 1-200£ that they likely cost to make and distribute. I've heard that they are even making some acceptable barrels these days.
One of our members even had the bolt face blow apart within the first ten rounds of factory ammo. Yes the "three rings of steel" saved her eyesight. The then dealer-importer's response was to offer to tig-weld it back together. No mention of re-proof. Ahem, no, I want a new bolt, or better a new rifle. Ah, that's too complicated. She eventually got her money back, who knows what happened to the rifle.
They did have a bad period before having to reluctantly re-design their un-safe trigger.
Not so on e.g a HOWA, where the entire bolt assembly is a single forging, and other important details are superior in design and implementation.
