The malform is still around....

Very nice buck have always liked the unusual ones.
Is there a history of this type of head on the ground?
 
Not especially.

There are normally a selection of six-pointers, but I can't recall any particular prevalence of malforms.
The buck must have had an injury of some sort do you think. But looking at the pictures he look a very nice buck.

I would agree that an injury is the most likely explanation, but in general he looks to be in pretty much tip-top condition.

Sadly he's not on ground where I have the stalking.

May well not have an injury. Once they get old they tend to produce some really strange heads. Will post one later that a mate shot this year. I assume that the testosterone levels reduce with age but someone will probably be on and explain it.
 
Here's one example from this season. Not injured but another that produced a strange head this year but not in previous years. Would be interested in peoples thoughts.
