Early start this morning on Father's Day, up at 3am and on ground by 3.30.
Started off spotting a doe which has a limp but shes getting about OK , second time I've seen her.
Skirting along the edge of the wood I glassed the unmistakable foxy red coat of a roe in the next field which was very tall grass ...on closer inspection I identified it as a young buck.
After a decent stalk I was around 80 yards of him oblivious to my presence.
Spent the rest of the morning watching the lapwings and Curlews and hares ..lovely to be out
