The Royal Nazis?

Note to all members,

Never use the sun news paper to wipe your Rs as more s h 1 t comes of the paper,

Bob.

The salute wasn't a symbol of nazism until after ww2. In 1933 it was just another form of saluting, not really a story apart from to sell newspapers.

Awful rag the Sun. Scary to think that a huge proportion of the British populace get their news from the sun and jeremy vine.

Compared to her life in service it doesn't amount to anything except criminal theft of her family's property.
Time to vote again for full reform of the press. Now if Liz had been phone tapping - different matter.

Met him, he's a fantastic character, passionate about his shooting and conservation, still shooting grouse today but unfortunately decided he's too old for a day on the hill.

I was watching television last night and the American (now British) commentator Bonnie Greer was on the programme.

She made a telling point that unless there was more written evidence fof any sympathy to fascism found in the closed to release royal archives of diaries and correspondence that this was no more than children imitating Hitler..."tittle tattle she called it...BUT...

BUT that the salute was in fact more widely known as it was, at the time, also being associated with Oswald Mosely's far right "blackshirt" British Union of Fascists political party and its street rallies.

So all those Roman Legionary re-enactors that to this day give the Roman Salute are Nazi's?
Nazi is a term that only came into use post 1937.
