Well ...I AM sure THE boys are doing there Best , BUT at times, the show , comes across , as Very Amateurish , maybe the boys could do with one or two training course,s

tim 243 original post was about rifle barrel up or down ,ie safe practise and even as a novice as i am ,its just not safe practice to show loading rifle then at some point climb a fence/cross a bridge /walk about with in all regards as i said before EVERY FIREARMS LOADED till shown as unloaded , they should have rechecked the video and spotted a big boo boo! thats enough about the commentator i mean the cock up!

Correct for Red, Sika, Fallow and Roe in England & Wales, but min legal requirement for Muntjac and CWD is calibre no less than .220 with a ME no less than 1000 ft lbs and a bullet weight no less than 50gn.

Curious division over something that is within our sport, I have stalked enough to know most stalkers would have crossed that same obstacle without unloading, the issue of the muzzle sweeping past the camera has simply got the hard core clipboard toting, bra too tight brigade well and truly on their self gratifying, opinionated soap boxes!

Strange that the criticism comes so easily, compared to the shooting media, in what ever format, just what do YOU contribute to the present and future of our sport?

Even stranger that the greatest effort seems to be focused on pulling things down?

I am firmly of the opinion that muzzle awareness should be ingrained into all shooters, and this applies at all times, if the gun is unloaded or not is irrelevant. You should be concentrating on where you are pointing the thing, by doing this there is no need to issue any "it's not loaded" disclaimers, and everyone is happy. I know that if I am in the company of somebody who's muzzles comes my way I do "mention" it, and any comments of the "it's alright it's not loaded" variety are rebuffed robustly!

It is not alright to point the muzzle of a weapon in anyone's direction, loaded or not, the risk is just too great.

Funnily, i was sat watching the bi-athlon in the winter olympics and SD (especially this topic) sprung to mind. I cant imaging many of the SD community have seen the bi-athlon for hiding behind their couch..

I didnt see any of the competitors proving the rifle after the shooting detail before skiing off, and then you see the muzzle pointing through the crowds and up the camera mans nose as they cross the finish line..
