The Uk 6

I know of at least 2 other people who have stalked using public transport in London. Same procedure: back back and take down rifle or combination gun.

I don’t know if any still do…
There were three or four of us within this group but I don't think any of us still have to do that any longer

Due to generous friends ive been lucky and shot the 6 most years, and for the last two years Ive shot them on ground I manage, mainly due to Sika being released in Covid and gradually spreading and now reaching me. Did the 9 in the UK a couple of years ago in a year including the fox, again generous friends helped with the goat and the boar.

Never shot a fox, I realise they need controlling but I’m not keen on killing unless it’s to eat.

@Nickb why WOW?
I’m just not interested in shooting foxes. I don’t have a problem with people shooting them. Maybe a bit hypocritical because I’ll happily shoot rats, loved ratting with the whippet and terrier’s.

Shot all six plus goat. Only really ever paid for one species and that was bidding in an auction for club funds. I unfortunately have to stay clear of Roe blood as it affects my skin. I have gralloched most of them using long AI gloves in recent times.

I haven't yet shot all 6 UK species, but I have eaten venison from all 6 species on the same day (daughter's 18th birthday bbq, during covid lockdown).

To complete the UK 8, I still need boar & sika.
I had a similar experience when invited to a family driven day for pheasant near Aylesbury about 20 years ago. The lunchtime stew was four types of venison all shot locally, it was roe, fallow, muntjac and CWD. There are now parts of NE Monmouthshire adjacent to the Forest of Dean, where everything apart from CWD can be stalked, plus of course wild boar. In fact, this would apply to Monmouth town as in addition to the long standing fallow, there are now boar, roe, muntjac and reds well within a ten mile radius of the town.
