The Wellies are Dead . . . .

Long Live the Wellies!

Had to admit defeat and finally replace my wellies after six years of almost daily wear! For the last year, the inners have been down to the rubber, and the resultant squeaking meant I was sneaking up on nobody

Funning aside though, this will now be my third pair of Aigle Parcours and I can't recommend them highly enough. They've been used on shoots, for stalking, mucking-out, jobs around the yard, walking the dogs, and a fair few trips around Tesco too . . . They've been shin-deep in mud, horse crap, and freezing water (sometimes all three together), and the only reason I've bought new ones is because they've finally given up the ghost. They were still in daily use until a few days ago, and I honestly hadn't realised just how worn out they'd become until I put the new ones on and remembered how utterly bloody comfortable they are!

If you're looking for a decent pair of wellies, I reckon you'll be hard-pushed to find better!

Got to agree with your choice of aigle, my first pair did not miss a beat in 7 years, I only replaced them as the tread was getting low so in the ice or wet mud there was not enough grip! Second pair 5 years in and going just as strong. Good looking boot too!

My only gripe with them (and I've said this from the first pair) is that they're quite poor as far as ankle support goes when on steep ground. That's true of most wellies though, I guess.

Was on the verge of buying but just read the reviews and I don't think pretty generous is going to cut the mustard.

Feck me, you wearing wellies at this time of year? My feet would be leaking sweat.

Aigles are good though. My mate swears by them. I have been on the same pair of Skellerup for years now. We are having a comp between us and a winner is not yet in sight. I might knife his when he aint looking.

Erm . . .you're kind of making this 'being funny' thing quite hard work. Would talking about Irish Separatism get you more sparked up?
Listen to me me now very carefully Woodsmoke.

I asked about a pair of wellies, please don't bring my nationality into this as it has no bearing on the discussion and I have no interest in engaging in an argument with you or anyone else about where I was born. But as a matter of record Woodsmoke, I am very proud of where I am from, I am proud of my heritage.
Yours in sport,
Fair Hill.

Have to say I've been impressed with the Skellerup Quatros, comfy and a good grip.

This said I took the precaution of applying a little preventative care following a slight altercation with a pikey-wire fence recently..IMG_2516.webp
