Same situation here too - I'm 15% down on last year's doe cull. And I have similar pictures of them grazing quietly in the neighbouring sanctuary. They even graze like cattle under the bottom strand of barbed wire.

I guess I’m lucky, I’m actually about 50% over the target I originally set - when I hit it I decided to add half as many again to be getting on with… I’m also pretty much double what I managed last winter, but it’s been hard work - just had a tot up & I’ve averaged 1.55 deer per outing this winter, that includes the ones where I’ve blanked. I keep my full records from 1 May to 30 April so will see how the full 12 months compares at the end of next month.

You had good going compared with here then. Last season was virtually double 'normal', maybe that was an anomaly. Anyway, this year was 2.2 outings per deer.
