Thermal Clip On

No worries mate, I use a Pard in conjunction with the thermal spotter and can't really justify the cost of a thermal scope or add on...plus I like twiddling my knobs 😆
I’ve got an older pard nv007 which I use on my air rifle when I'm ratting so wil experiment with that first I do find the eye relief a bit of a pain though.

I always remove the rubber eye cup, not needed and there's no worry of light scaring anything off, the rubber eye cup saves an inch and if you picked up a 007s then you save another inch in its design 👍🏻

Thank you, mines an older one so a bit longer. I’ll try it with the eye piece taken off.

So far it looks pretty good. I’ve been laid up with a bug all day but I’ll have a little play with it in the garden later.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but currently looking for a thermal spotter, and the hik lynx pro 25mm is one im looking at, how happy are you with it? And what range would you say you could identify a fox at?

Hello mate, I don’t have a huge frame of reference and have only previously used older tech.

I am very happy with it though. Generally the image is very clear but obviously affected by moisture in the air. Loads of different viewing modes and it’s been useful.

I have been able to positively identify a fox at a couple of hundred yards based also on its movement. I’ve only been out foxing a couple of times with it mind. Most of my use is deer stalking.

Thanks for the reply, i will keep that in mind when i go to purchase one. I dont want to spend too much and get one that's more than i need, but dont want to be dissapointed either. So many different makes and models makes it hard to come to a decision 😂

I went to the shooting show and tried out a load of different ones before I made the decision. Got mine as an unboxed return so was discounted.

Hi there. I use a lynx lh19, so lower spec’ than you are looking at. Can identify foxes by movement at up to 400 yards if conditions are right. Easy to see that size heat signature at that distance then close the gap and use nv for positive ID. Sure I would like a better unit but realistically don’t NEED one. Great bit of kit, I have never needed to swap batteries with it set to sleep when dangling round my neck. Usually drops to half charge after about 3 hours.

Thank you for the reply, im in the same boat as you, i dont need the most expensive ones really although it would be nice, and the battery life seems more than adequate as my foxing sessions wouldnt be much longer than 2-3 hours anyway. Nice to hear from people who actually use them, dont really trust reviews on youtube as the could be paid promotions

If I had to pick a fault it would be that the objective lens cap fell off in my pocket. Stuck it back with superglue. No issues with performance at all. To be honest probably the most useful bit of kit I have.
