THERMAL EYE STRAIN

Turn the settings down, don't get thermal obsessed and stare through it too much, it's not good for your eyes. Thermal bino's don't give you the eye burn, but are a nightmare weight wise to stalk with, esp. if you are also carrying glass binoculars!! from a car, you can't beat thermal bino's for spotting.

I wear contact lenses, and find that I have to use thermal spotters with extreme moderation, otherwise I will also get flashing lights for hours and some pain like you. Same with HIK and Pulsar as an FYI, use all three brands as we test our competitors regularly, and they all do the same.

regularly go to opticians and get checked out, and they say some eyes are just more sensitive to intense light, and this can be esp. magnified by contact lenses.

not had any real trouble till this year so need to get checked out for sure
i do keep looking at the bino style thermals but being a poor pensioner cost does come into it
my pulsar cost me as much as my land rover lol
i know before anyone says it health has no cost

WELL what a night i had to up the brightness and contrast a tad because of the weather conditions and used white heat instead of black heat
no eye strain this morning so happy days
on top of that 6 foxes shot 4 dogs and 2 vixens, 4 off the sticks out to 180yds ish (measured of google maps)
Thanks again for your input guys it is much appreciated

Having run helmet mounted monoculars a fair bit i've known a few people even vomit and have to go to binos. I personally thrive with one eye adjusted to the dark and the other through a monocular, my brain overlays the 2 images and i can close either eye as and when it's required. If you can't train yourself to get on with it get some binos.
