Thermal or night vision

so the piece of land I have permission on has a foot path along its highest point (approx 40ft above the river ) and is not visible along all of its length. The bank below is the best back stop other than shooting down hill from it. So either way weather shooting from below it into the bank or from it towards the river I need to be aware of any walkers.
My question is what will give me the earliest warning of walkers (thinking spotter or bins) thermal or night vision plus any advice on the tool for the job in hand ideally under £500

A 10-year-old boy shooting possums from his dad's ute using a thermal scope accidentally shot another hunter near Gisborne, fatally wounding the man, a court ...

They don't look much like human obscured by scrub.
Another one locally on a forestry road and came under fire and wounded. Shot at several times as if once was not enough. Clearly not ID'd
Recent one also likely involves a NV.

Same story though always ID properly.

Not if they are in a pop up hide trying to get pics of wildlife !!!

Generally thermal will give earlier and better warning of other human beings or animals
But, always remember that it's you responsibility as the shooter to do the safe thing - you can never blame the kit for misleading you

Just the updated version of lamping .... never shoot a pair of eyes. Unless you can 100% id your target dont shoot it.

Well shoot them in the day light and stop worring about risk that can be totally avoided.

Great in theory...not so good if your going foxing

Also night time is better as walkers tend to need lights so easier to spot
