Thermion Duo DXP 50 4k

Pulsar won't stop developing more new products.
If they stopped development, the end of the company would soon follow.
Their product development cycle is now shorter than it used to be simply because they now have far more competition (HIK, Iray, Guide, Senopex et al) and if they want to retain or increase their market share, they have to bring out shiny new toys to attract potential buyers
Remember that all these digital NV and thermal products are far more electronic than optical so are governed by the pace of advancements in electronics rather than the much slower (virtually none existent) pace of advancements in optics.
As an example, even when Swarovski bring out new scopes, the "new" bit is electronic rather than optical

Totally fair point..... it does baffle me how they manage to fit the electronics for these devices into such compact units (and almost all devices now in 30mm tube format rather than like the previous trail etc models).

I do like the idea of thermal and night vision in one unit.
(Not fusion like the Gryphon).
Pulsar seem to be on the way with this idea here showing thermal/real image in pip and main screen, which a foxing scope I would love to have both.
I say Pulsar is on the way, it's only just.
Getting a scope to do both well at night is going to need 2 decent lenses up front mounted vertically, in this format, it wont just 'fit in the box'.
Also Pulsar for me personally could do with getting more base mag into there thermals for longer range fox work like Senopex have done.
Guess its one or the other!
Wonder who the real customers will be for this type of scope?

Pulsar aren't the only company with new toys https://www.pard-tech.com/PARD-SA-PLUS-62-640x480-12um-thermal-imaging-scope-en
A thermal scope with onboard rangefinder and ballistic calculator - definitely one for the air rifle and rimfire guys, but £3.4k for the top of the range model, but less than £2.4k for the 384 sensor and 35mm lens - which would be a good combination for rats and bunnies
I have asked PARD whether or not any import duties and VAT would be payable when it arrives here - but no reply yet

At least Pard have put the range finder on the left hand side, perfectly in the way for right handed shooter to adjust the occular!

1. The ocular is behind the rangefinder - I think you mean objective
2. Would you actually be trying to range a target at the same time as trying to adjust the objective focus????
3. There's a lever on the objective lens that lifts up that allows the lens focus to be adjusted without blocking the rangefinder

Cheers

Sorry, corrected, objective.
Yes I'd be ranging in scan mode whilst adjusting the objective lens.
Being a right hander, I'd be holding the trigger grip of the rifle with my finger close to the trigger with my right hand as I adjusted the objective focus with my left hand.
I can reach over the top of the unit to the adjust the objective, but this frankly just feels wrong, especially from a prone position. Just try it Bruce on any of your scopes with an illuminator on the left side. (If you are righty that is). 😉
If I was to adjust the objective with the right hand, what would be holding the rear of the rifle, the left hand? Then swap over back to the right when I want to take a shot on a fox?
(10-15% of folk are left handed).
Not being a Pard engineer, but personally I'd be putting an LRF on top of any scope I made rather than to either side and put an extra tab on the objective focus at both sides.
