With that comment you are certainly NONETHEWISER..i cannot say i am overly saddened by someone who hunted lions, leopards and elephant. Anyone killing such magnificent beasts in pursuit of trophies or profit gets little sympathy from me.

Then you fail to understand the principles of game animal management then as they are the same the world over irrespective of whether it be elephant or roebuck .Your user name speaks volumes
I find most South Africans find hunting with hounds in Africa abhorrent. Are you one of them?

No man is an island,
Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thy friend's
Or of thine own were:
Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind,
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.
You're welcome to your opinion - but there's a time and a place for everything. A man lost his life, a wife lost her husband and five children lost their father. I think a modicum of sadness ought to be the order of the day.
Just my opinion.
Don't know about that one. Pretty to hard to see in elephant thorns. If the animals are down wind and have approached from another angle then the animals will smell you before you see or hear them. I certainly didn't like wandering around near Kruger looking for my golf balls armed with a driver. Would have much preferred a 3 iron.
I just thought the story sounded a little weird...this isn't Africa in the early 1900s, these guys are pros and should know the lay of the land pretty well, pretty much where every elephant is...just wondering if someone was careless...like coming between cow and calf
