I was told we are closing shop on Friday ,( most of the sites/ non essential jobs are )

Change of plan , I'm now going to a different hospital ( I'm a project manager At Wythenshawe hospital in manchester and all non essential work has been stopped ) to refurb a 50 bed ward into an isolation unit for this virus

I could have taken the 80% deal off my employers and sat on my arse for a few weeks , but I might as well get stuck in and get this done for the NHS , I'm not one to sit on my arse and if I can do my bit to help , then why not

One thing I'll be doing is donating blood again in the next couple of weeks.

Hospitals still need blood despite the pandemic, you can still donate and it's 'good reason' to go out if you need one.

What I should do and what I will do are two very different things.

I should:

Clean the rifles, bolts apart etc
Clean the shotgun for the first time ever
Reload a chunk of ammunition
Clean the kitchen (properly)
Sharpen every single knife I own
Wet clean the stairs
Clean the car inside and out
Sort out the spare room finally

What I will do:

Ride my bike
Relentlessly practice my short game until the skirting boards can take no more
Get started on my leather gimp suit

Obviously not in that order as I need something stylish to wear on my bike rides.

How we are coping in Oregon, my two boys and I went gray digger shooting. We were the only 3 In the 1000 acers. The boys got many shots with their .17 mags and my 10 year old got one at 100 yards. From house to field we went, not stopping once. Then we went fishing for winter steelhead, again from house to river without stopping once. No luck though. I think in the morn, we may try our luck
For some early spring salmon. We are permitted to go food shopping and “out side” if we don’t contact others. Have to do something to keep our minds off it.
