Thinking of buying Swarovski 8x42 NL Pure, Axion 2 XG35 LRF and Viper-Flex® Styx PRO carbon...

I respectfully urge you to check the field of view width figures of the 10x pure (a revelation, both literally and in terms of specification), and be sure to try to get a look through a pair with and without the headrest fitted, as it’s not a gimmick. Then consider the potential for using the glasses for eg birdwatching or other viewing, and other activities. I used to be a firm believer in the depth of field, and field of view of 7x magnification over 8x, also because of the ability to use the 7x for viewing for over half an hour at a time when observing a deer etc without suffering eye strain, but the NL Pure goes a very great way in addressing these aspects, especially with the headrest fitted.
I will get head rest as it will help my daughter to use it as well. And harness to keep it safe

Thank you, everybody - I received NL Pure 8x42 from R.Macleod & Son today along with harness, head rest and Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 LRF. I watched several videos about NL Pure before I bought it, and one showed a bit of distortion on lenses. I do not see distortions in my binoculars, but there is better contrast in the upper part of the field of vision. I can only compare LN Pure to cheap (circa £20) Silva 8x21 binoculars and see the light transmittance is notably better - the view is like via fog in Silva, but I did not notice this until now. Comfortable and light enough. Head rest makes it more stable than my small light Silva. Cannot say I am overwhelmed by their quality, perhaps because I expect too much, but it should noticeably improve my spotting capabilities. It is cloudy at the moment 13:49, so quite bright
Thanks, everybody, for suggestions

Went out today. It was a different experience, here is the story
My guide instructed me what to do, we went out to the field and, as usual, he scanned the area with his binoculars and said: "Oh, I can see a deer, can you?". My usual response would be: "No" because I my usual kit would be Silva 8x21 £10-20 worth binoculars. However, now I said: "Ah, yes, I can see it" because I had Swarovski NL Pure 8x42. Then I turned my Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 LRF thermals on and recorded movements of the .. wrong deer, and the guide did not spot it  . Anyway, I measured the distance that was 309 metres. The guide told me we had better come closer (I thought I could take the deer at this distance if I lie down, but I am disciplined, so I listen to the more experienced ones), we moved closer, carefully moved to the position and... I got it from about 75 metres from his Sako rifle - I felt the recoil was softer than CZ even though it was the same 308 calibre. I managed to quickly train Swarovski scope back to the position to see the animal limped somewhere to the right, I saw the animal I shot moving via the scope only once before... It was promising. And the guide said: "Good shot!" he asked me if I could see anything interesting via my scope. I did not pay much attention to it, but then I switched my training on and said: "I see a lot of red. now, like berries bush", a sign I hit the lungs
Then my guide kept asking me and I followed his training; we came to the spot where the deep was, we followed the blood trail, found the deer, I pulled the animal from where it was, lots of videos and photos and then I gralloched the animal...
The experience with my current kit and without - I felt I was cheating as the hunt finished within 30 minutes. However, it is costly to get out that I must cheat using good kit. And I don't sorry - I am happy
Anyway, my mother is even more happy than me as I continue our hunting tradition, my in-laws find this appalling, my family don't want to eat venison. Well, at least we don't buy red meat from supermarkets since I picked up hunting, it is good on our family budget :D. I will eat the venison all by myself:lol:

By the way, special thanks to Toby from R. Macleod & Son - I hope making you poorer as you gave me good discount (feels like you lost money on the sale, though it was big - binoculars with all additional kit plus Pulsan thermals) will be rewarded by more customers from this post  . Well, you offered me a better price than anyone else, even my club. "I'll be back" when I start looking for a rifle and scope:cool:
