This had to be shared.

Good.
It puts the real thing in front of the public.
Far too many people think all food comes ready wrapped.
No doubting the connection between food and dead animals here!

Whether it meets all the neccessary hygiene criteria is another matter entirely. Probably it doesn't. But the concept is to be applauded. Just need to work a bit on their presentation.

As for the price, if that's what customers are prepared to pay then that's what it's worth. Butchered, the retail value would be £200+

Don't think that's an Asian establishment as they have pork chops in the display and the fella behind the counter looks suspect too.
Has the deer been gralloched?

True but they won't get many Muslims buying from them if pork is in the display.
What have Muslims got to do with it? Anyone who doesn't like what's on display (pork chops or dead deer) can simply shop elsewhere.

Just looks like an old-school butcher to me, who probably knows his market well.

I've seen enough posts on here over the years by people hankering after the "good old days" when a butcher's shop front would be festooned with feathered game etc during the winter months. Well this ought to keep you all happy. He's even got quite a few of his price labels in £/lb, not kg. Just like the old days! :british:

Where's the tag? 🤔
Maybe there wasn't one? A stalker selling in-skin to a butcher doesn't require food business registration or trained hunter status.
Or maybe the butcher entered the details off the tag into his records, then removed the tag to make the carcass more presentable?

No need to always fear the worst!

That was my point he is a traditional British butcher I have no problem with his display or how he conducts business, the original post suggests it was a Asian establishment and I merely pointing out that the picture suggests not.

Hmmm 🤔 Not really inclined to give this scenario the benefit of the doubt, in truth.

How is the 'records and traceability' aspect otherwise controlled without a tag?
