Tick removal from the roe carcass.

Ticks tend to cluster on specific body parts of roe deer, with heads and necks being common locations, chatting to my neighbour last night, he who only shoots the with head up or was it down? He pointed to the ticks now clustered around the nostril area on the buck he had shot an hour earlier that was now hanging to drain in his prep area. "See how they are all up at the nose they tend to do that after the roe dies"? I asked him what he did to remove them "i use a little camping gas bunsen burner, two quick sweeps around the nose and they are all gone".

Thanks. The burner is a good idea that I never thought of.
I skin deer close to the house, and the ticks dropping off and infecting us later, is a repeating concern. Burning them off sounds easy.
I have not seen them migrating to the nostrils though, or any head or head down difference.

good for the wasps who wants to land on the deer you are just starting on!
A good quality hot air gun would work if you have power, mine melts plastic!
