Tier one QD mounts

I have just some of these, so I can swap between my Hik Alpex and Glass scopes. How well do they hold zero when doing this? I am asking, as on close inspection, the mating surfaces on the rail and mounts seem to have lots of gaps and while They feel solid enough when locked in, I just wonder how reliable the system is……I don’t want any nagging doubt that the round might not hit where I am aiming! Any users here got any feedback?

I use the monomount style, never had an issue with the 4 sets I have. Swapping between the Alpex/swaro and stellar/nf everything seems to be 100% return to zero providing you push the mount to its most forward position before clamping up.

I would look at Innomount mounts as well. Never tried the Tier one QD mounts and the rest of their stuff is pretty decent, but I do have direct experience of the Innomount ones and they 100% work. An experience repeated by many others as well.

Just remember to swap the recoil block underneath to suit the correct rail on your rife. For some reason they come setup for weaver rails rather than pic rails.

hmm, I have just spent nearly £500 on the QD ones......I asked for the QD mounts so I could interchange scopes but not specifically the monomounts and just used what they gave me at Potters, where I got the gun.....and having one set, ordered another the same for the other scope....it was only when mounting the new scope I looked and started doubting them......

I know someone with a Tier One mono QD mount and it holds zero well when changed over/refitted. Tier one are seen as good mounts that are well made and consistent If you have individual QD rings you will be more at the mercy of the rail manufactures tolerances. Having good quality rails of the same brand on both rifles will help. I base this on mounting bipods on pic rails on different rifles and having to adjust the QD screw to match the slightly different machining on different rifles. Placing a small optics riser on both rifles meant the bipod locked up perfectly each time on both.
Just in case you are not aware, when remounting the scope on the rifle, push the mount towards the muzzle until it stops against the pic rail tooth, also slightly from the side without QD levers to ensure consistent lock up. You don't need them to be really tight when you close the QD lever so don’t over adjust them so they are hard to close. The cam does the work for you and the anti-opening button stops them from opening easily if caught on something.

Ditto just done the same yesterday.from potters too ..🤔

If you have 2 scopes that you are swapping on the same rifle then you should be able to adjust the tension correctly for both sets so they are consistent each time.
Use Webleys advice re pushing the mount forward till it stops each time. And make sure it's in the same grooves.
If you swap the scopes between rifles sometimes there is a problem between picatinny rails. There can be differences in width between one picatinny rail and another. In that case you may need to adjust the QD each time you swap.
And then it's no longer QD!

I just saw that I didn't actually answer the question.🙄. I zeroed both my new alpex and my lovely swaro. Took the swaro's off after zeroing and put the alpex back on (push gently forward in same location) .Bingo got into a group and head shot all three within a minute . videos available 😄....
