Tikka stock query

Have picked up a wooden T3 stock as wanted to put my T3x into it, just wanted to try a nice wood stock, aesthetics n all that.

Anyways there’s a slight difference, both my T3x (223 and 6.5) bottle plastics and my T1x bottle plastic have this bit protruding that there’s a hole for on the T3x stocks, but not on the T3 wood stock.

Thought I’d ask on here before I start amending anything …

Aftermarket bottle metals don’t appear to have it … so any idea why it’s there?

Options, cut it off … or drill a small hole on the T3 stock to fit it…

If your confident to mark and drill it in the right place to depth etc. That's what I would do a small hole out of sight is better than taking something off which seems likely to be a locating or strengthening piece should you want to return it to the other stock (prior to sale for example).

i have seen a few stocks where the small pin has been remove and the bottom plastic fits and function with out issue.
