Hi folks

I'm relatively new to this forum. I've recently bought a T3X Ace Game, took it hill stalking and now wondering if a lighter stock would be an option for me.

Has anybody out there changed the stock on a T3X Ace Game?

Thanks Keith

TheT3X Ace is quite an economical way of getting hold of the Tikka Cerakoted barrelled action with fluted bolt, which is as far as I can tell identical to the one in their super varmint that costs quite a bit more.
I put my supervarmint in an MDT Oryx and it reduced group size a lot.

Have you the super varmint stock I can buy?

Tikka Ace Game cerakote in 6.5 PRC

Swapped it into an XRS and sold the ace game chassis. It was wonderfully accurate out of the box in its original set up, and its claimed many deer, but it was just a ball ache to carry, wasn't ideal for shooting off quad sticks and very noisy when working through cover (metallic and tinny) & and I came to realise I preferred something a little more traditional/cross over.

I checked zero yest in the new stock, POI hasn't shifted at all to my surprise, was plinking away out to 300 yards happily before the heavens opened! Good gusts making wind calls interesting 🤔

I will be buying a few stock spacers though to extend LOP

Oh, now that's what I'm thinking about! Is that an MDT XRS in long action? Ive got a 7 PRC

do you know if on the MDT stock the action size also dictates the mag well?
All tikkas have the same length bolt and mag.
I’m wondering if you can fit a MDT short action stock onto a long action tikka like you can with the GRS.

No, its the mag well thats a difference size for AICS mags. It will specify LA or SA and the difference is just the mag. The action Will fit and you could single feed if you felt that way Inclined

I did, I sold the Ace on here and took the money and spent the proceeds on a GRS Hunter light on optics warehouse, that weekend I got lucky and someone advertised here a bottom metal and put it all together the following week.

Really really happy with the change, same as above I wanted the cal but not too fussed on the weighty chassis.

I did have to make a slight stock modification as I had to open up the barrel channel but not too difficult.

Balances beautifully now and have taken it out with success so super pleased with the change.

I ran an Ace target in the MDT HNT26 chassis short term while lying around with options. Wasn’t as bad as you would have thought considering the 24” heavy barrel but definitely front heavy compared the the .243 and .308 20” barrels I usually run in it.

Ended up sticking it in an MDT premier Gen 2 chassis as a dedicated target/ static foxing set up. Shoots like a dream and still ok to carry round even if it is a bit of a lump.
