any one got a tikka t3x lite, ( first lite spectre)??

im after a new tikka 243 and was looking at a lite to keep costs down, then realised they did a stainless for £200 more, then i was looking at the veil wideland, for a couple of hundred more,
now im thinking %$£" the budget im liking the fluted bolt and barrel of them both, wondered what the difference was between the veil and the FLS

yes i like the look of them, only problem is i want one before xmas, variation should be back this week, so just been looking at shops within 100 miles of me, and only the ones advertised on guntrader,

The only difference is the stock visuals as far as I can see. I have the Wideland in .223 Rem with 22" barrel and looks to be identical in every other respect.

A question please for those who also have a T3X Lite in Woodland Veil and for those with Cerakoting experience. In May of this year I bought a brand new T3X Lite in Woodland Veil; 20" .308. The short story of why I ended up with this rifle is that I wanted a lightweight .308 rifle with a 20" barrel, threaded 5/8x24 (so that I could use the same F&D lightweight mod) with detachable magazine and did not want to spend a fortune. Having looked at some very expensive carbon rifles, the T3x weighed proprtionally not a lot more, had the same D18 barrel as my Sako S20 in .308 and I thought...

However, it’s a first-world issue as you don’t see it with the bolt closed and the rifle’s plus points outweigh this cosmetic issue. I have now transferred the action into a MDT HNT-26 chassis and I’m loving it even more.

yes i now believe the first lite is and American camo pattern, and it may be the light in the pictures iv seen but the barrel and action seem more a grey colour where as the veil seems a brown ish colour

Yes you are correct, the resolution in these photos show it to be more of a ceracoted charcoal colour;

Whereas mine is the dark brown ceracote as in wytonpjs's post. Mechanically they both seem to be identical and if I was buying again I would make the same choice.

Iv ordered the veil wideland now anyway. The bronze cerakote did it for me. And a decent price if £1500 from Bradford stalker.

I just picked up a T3X Superlite in 243 , true timber pattern. Haven’t shot it yet becuase I’m still settling on the optics.

But, to let you know how good we have it in the USA, my cost out the door was $730 (about £575).

And I must give Malc a tip of the hat for turning me onto Tikka years ago.

I saw a video yesterday on YouTube. Lad said he paid 800 dollars. I got that to about £600. It’s fecking criminal.
