Not much to be seen today, very quiet on the deer front but I ranged this hind at 294 yards and thought to ask the SD brethren " head or shoulder with what calibre?"

Remember she did as all sambar do lifted her head often.

If it was possible to get closer then I would obviously, but the shot would be possible from where you took the picture.

If I could close the gap by 60 yards or so I'd be happy with a shoulder/chest/hilar shot from my 270.

(I don't doubt that the 270 would be capable of taking it without getting closer, but I don't have so much faith in my own capability).

My remmy 700 30.06 with Swaro Z5i dialled in and 150gn Sako's and bipod good back stop so feel comfortable and get on with it! (shoulder)

In my state a 6mm is legal minimum for use on both elk and moose. Anyone willing to take this shot with your .243? Excluding Donkey Basher of course.
