I am lead to believe there is a shortage of tomatos
in Britain presently. Forgive me if I am mistaken, I have been away for a couple of months or so.
No issue with availability here. Like all veggies they are seasonal
Clearly something people have forgotten?
(Don't start me on Acocados and air-miles)

debaiting whether to grow any this year, last two years have seen nearly nil produce, but you can’t beat yer home grown fruit and veg for taste
i grew potatoes, strawberries plums, apples blackberries and grapes cropped enough for us and the neighbour and kids to supply them all
beetroot, spinach, tomatoes, pears and peppers complete waste of time good mind to show the 2 pear trees the chainsaw

I Gardeners' Delight last year. Lots of fruit but all the taste of pink cotton balls. The year before I grew from the seed of tomatoes I had bought from a shop and liked the taste of. I'm in France at the end of the month so may well get some seed there.

Debating where to buy good varieties?

My wife's into completing puzzles, extremely tough ones at that. She's just struggling with one now and asked me to name five fruits beginning with the letter T. I'm not sure if I'm correct but said tangerines, also tomatoes (I think there classed as fruit). I'm racking my brains with the other three, any help would be appreciated. We can't get the results until tomorrow afternoon. If the answers are not obvious I'll report back on this one. Thanks in advance.👍👍

tamarind

Thanks for that. Mentioned all three to the missus, seemingly these are in the question. As in five fruits not counting the ones you correctly mentioned. I'm scratching my head now. There's a couple more in the question that must be correct but I've never heard of them. But they say they can all be had in Chorley Lancashire. 🤔
