Took a client out yesterday for his second ever stalk

There were plenty of does about with this year's followers and one particularly curious youngster came over to have a proper look at us, even with the dog sat beside me.

The buck we were stalking eventually gave us the slip before we could get into position. It happens and it's all part of learning. Knowing when to move, when to stay put and how deer are likely to react only really comes with time.

Not every stalk ends with a shot but every one teaches you something and being outside with nature is (nearly) always worth it.
