Just putting this out there to get other people's opinions. Give me your top 5 bolt action .22LR sporting rifles, I don't mean best value for money, I'm taking out and out best in terms of build quality and accuracy.

It'll no doubt result in me purchasing something at some stage.

I'm guessing we'll see the likes of:

Mauser 201
Sako Finnfire
Tikka T1X
Anschutz 1710
Weihrauch HW66

I've only ever had Anschutz so I'm biased. Never found any need to change my 17/10. It's extremely accurate and has never given any problems in the many years I've had it. I have heard good reports of the Bergara though!

I'd be interested to see people's opinions on the quad in .22lr versus the original finnfire
the quad (and new finnfire) simply isn't a patch on the original finnfire , i replaced my finnfire with a custon rim-x action which in my opinion is about the only way to better it

I have not had sufficient experience to offer much input other than to list those I like and those I don’t

Cz 452 - gets a plus from me. Perhaps a hundred thou rds down range and still delivers 2 MOA (if the weather and shooter are in accord)

Vudoo- bloody expensive, and like a thoroughbred, requires specific feeding

Blaser R8 .22LR - a thoroughbred with the tastes of a cart horse- gets my vote hands down

10 22 - crap through and through

I sold a Mauser 201 earlier this year, the build quality was absolutely superb, never seen bluing quite like it and the crown finish was very impressive. It was also the quietest .22LR I've ever used.

I find these interesting:

Anschutz 1827 B and F
Anschutz 1710/1712
Brno Mod 5, 2, 1
Mauser ES350
Steyr Zephyr
Sako M78
Tikka T1x
CZ 452

Cz452 ridiculous with eley team still very good with hp subs . Trigger has smoothed with use and breaks when I think about it . I probably need to check it's pull .
