This guy obviously has taste.....
KELLY’s HEROS!!!! Best character in a war film.... ODD BALL!!! So less of your negative waves. Actually I think of that phrase quite often whilst reading SD!!

No order!
Saving private Ryan
Enemy at the gates
Platoon
unbreakable
Black hawk down
American sniper
We were soldiers
Letters from Iwo Jima
The Thin red line
Hacksaw ridge

sure there will be some I’ve missed

I too throughly enjoyed band of brothers and would deem it probably the best tv series I’ve ever watched I vividly remember coming home from ‘playing out’ with my mates on Friday night to watch it.

I am finding it difficult to come up with a top ten, although a series, Band of Brothers is, without doubt, the best television series ever made. In a league of its own.

Saving Private Ryan would be my number one, but all the films mentioned are classics, but did anyone mention “Ice Cold in Alex”

Has anyone here seen “Letters from Iwo Jima” search for it on Netflix, well worth a watch.

Forgot about the Thin red line

All pretty good choices but I'd add

The Thin Red Line .........a bit arty in places but my favourite scene is where the 7 guys attack the top of the hill help by the Japanese

The Bridge at Remargen........the tanks barrelling down the road in the opening scene is impressive

Apocalypse now but the directors cut with the extended scenes which makes a bit more sense.....love the bit when Sheen steals the Majors surfboard strapped to the Helo.

Hell is for Heroes.......black and white and fairly low budget but some really good action and great performances from Steve McQueen and James Coburn.

I did my training with George Jones one of the Arnhem paras who was taken as a POW he was a fabulous bloke.
Then later I worked in KC with Ron Washer a real "A teamer" honest! He was invalided out after the broken arrow incident where the OIC called in napalm, they fought their way into the marines to help them and a grenade took some of his skull off, he was only wobbly when he was watching the FMJ film.

One I've not seen mentioned yet is '84 Charlie Mopic'

Low budget but amazingly well shot by handheld camera, really does get the grip of an ambush madness. Also good sniper tactics of picking at a soldier to get his mates to come out and help him only to make multiple targets from a single target...great film!

The longest day
Kellys heros
The eagle has landed
The enemy below
Sink the bismarck
The cruel sea
U 571
Above us the waves
The Silent Enemy
The Great Escape
Battle of Britain
Tobruk
Von Ryan's Express
The Bridge at Remagen
The Dam Busters
Battle of the River Plate....

Hard to choose....here’s a few more.

Days of Glory
Breaker Morant
Too Late the Hero
Born on the Fourth of July.
Paths of Glory
Patton

Here are my submissions for American & Aussie cult hit Vietnam films.

- 84 Charlie Mopic, underappreciated yet highly regarded cult film about an American LLRP patrol where a film unit is attached to it, shot 'Blair Witch' style long before that film came out. An absolute must watch as the full movie is on youtube!

-The Odd Angry Shot, trailer says it all, get a copy!

The one with Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds, set in Texas,,
