hi all,

recently got a new to me truck. its a 13 plate Hilux invincible. it hasn't came with a service book. I have all the receipts but the chap before said he lost the book. doesn't matter to me as the reg and millage is on all the receipts.

the only thing I cant find that I would assume is in the book is how often to do a minor service and when to do a major service, he has serviced it every 10,000 miles so I would like to do the same. currently it is on just shy of 40,000 so I need to book it in. can anyone that knows please tell me if this needs to be a minor or a major service please.

help much appreciated

Tom

Hi Tomm,

I have had Toyotas as a works vehicle for 7 years and they have a minor service / health check at 10,000 and a full service every 20,000 as recomended by UK Toyota hope this helps

Your local Toyota dealer will supply a replacement service book, and if you have all the receipts stamp it all up to date.

Neil.

Where are you getting it serviced Tom?
Do me a favour please, ask if they have had any previous issues with the Hilux and the rear axle oil seal where it meets the wheel, i have a terrble suspicion mine is leaking again, 4th repair 3 different garages!

Apart from that, i have had (touch wood!) 60k miles of trouble free motoring, great trucks, and the answer to the question, major service at 40k.
Timing belt at 100k miles, but i got mine done at 85K

Cheers
Richard
