I'm considering ordering one of these for a new quad. Has anyone used them before? Or would you have suggestion as to others I should perhaps consider?

The last one we had stolen was freewheeled down the hill to their car at the bottom with a trailer,so flattening the battery wouldn't help.

Can electric quads freewheel? I have read that EV’s cannot ( - serious problem if you’d happen to be on a smart motorway for example), but this may be incorrect, hence the question.

This one has the provision to lock the gear lever into park, so it adds an additional layer of embuggerance to the ungodly. At least it'll make moving it that little bit more difficult

No experience of the Scorpion track, but had the Datatool Trakking system on my motorbikes which looks very similar and found it excellent.
When armed, as soon as the bike moved, the control centre were on the phone, the gps on the app was also mega accurate.

That sounds reassuring. I take it you could disarm it so you weren't forever getting false alarms?

My stepson and daughter in law have a scorpion tracker fitted to their expedition truck. We followed them on the app through France, Spain and Morocco. The app and tracker didn't miss a beat the whole time. I know nothing about the mechanics of the thing but the product looks great.

We have this fitted to our quads. I think Scorpion and Datatool are the same thing , at least it's Datatool who notify me when the scorpion tracker gets activated. Very efficient company. I got my first notification before I even received the quad. It was moved by the garage on a trailer and the vibration, along with no fob present, sent the alert. Downside to me is that it can be a little too sensitive at times

Yep, you can have full autonomy of the kit. When it goes in for service or repair, just let them know and they will keep an eye on the tracker.
I found them very reassuring, and if you call them, they are very professional
