Tractor Yanmar 186d

A very long shot I am trying to source a Hydraulic pump and seals set for my tractor. Cant seem to find anyone with the right bits. Not sure how old the tractor is, guessing 70/80s and I would have thought a big company like Yanmar would still support it

Anyone any ideas where I might go or some vintage tractor ideas?

I have a yanmat tractor, think its a similar vintage. I got a replacement hydraulic pump a few years ago from a company called White House Pumps. They still send me sales emails do are still in business. They were good to deal with and the pump stills works although the tractor is an unreliable old dog

It sounds like urs is a proper imported yanmar.

But u can get some problems with compact tractors, tracked dumpers and tracked tractors so many 'grey' imports get brought in from asia and sold through the big auctions.
Different spec to the simular uk model and some companies/registered dealers might not carry out work on them.

If u can get pump off and size specs try taking it to a local hyd place.
Or a local agri/forestry engineer might be able to recondition it, if u cant get a replacement
Is that white house up Glasgow or port Glasgow, I think still trading.
Im sure they sent me a catalogue once, it was thick.
Or try somewhere Luke Appex (power fluids, I think or hydraulics) in carlisle

Worked on a few of those over the years….. is yours the four bolt flange fit type that screws directly onto the side of the engine (right hand side from memory) and driven off the timing set up at the front. What is the pump doing…. The main gear driven part of the pump is fairly robust but can push out oil if the seals are gone or pump hydraulic oil past the seals into the sump at the drive end.. Mostly it was just the seals that degraded and the actual metal components of the pump are fine. Your local o rings and lip seals place should be able to get you the bits you need without going to dealers. Have you stuck a pressure test gauge on it to see what it’s making on the old psi front? Also from memory there is an oil strainer that blocks causing oil not to get to the pump. As this blocks the machine gets slower on the lift until eventually it just can’t do it. Have you cleaned it out….. this can cause the pump to also sound noisy ….. only suggestions but a lot of the time you don’t need the whole pump. Apologies if you know your spanner’s and this sounds condescending. Bare in mind I don’t know you or your mechanical abilities and I’m only trying to help.

The strainer sits on the left hand side of the transmission behind a flat plate…. Sort of under your left arse cheek and behind your left calf muscle….

Try ppk in Aldershot, not to far from you. I use them for all my hydraulic works, pipes rams on tractors and telehandlers ect.
