Trail Cam Guessing Game Competition

Any news?

Yes indeed...

Went Saturday and the results are in. My camera with the full battery in over 6 months recorded 1792 pictures with the batteries failing last week. My second camera with what showed as 60% battery life recorded 960 pictures and died on Xmas day (didn't help that a buck stood and preened himself in front of it for 200 pictures to top it off) Pictures to follow at some point - few crackers in there.

Anyway the grand total is 2,752 so I make the winner our very own wildlife cameraman @johngryphon. I will post fella if you send me over your details - otherwise happy for you to nominate someone else.

My prize on the day was a nice cull buck ;)

Russell that was a wonderful gesture in donating a prize mate and I have one here already so I thought that a member named "Loki" could have it as he is a bloke that replies to most of my posts with a lot of genuine interest.

Thanks mate

John Griffin.

No worries fella :thumb:

@Loki - drop me a PM with your details;)

Assuming you are recording at 8MP your 32GB card should be capable of storing 16800 images. So if you have filled your cards that's 33,600. However, I think your batt life is about 6 months so one of the devices may have stopped working half way through Feb, and assuming it had a clean SD card on the 31 October, it may bot have filled the card. That said, you only need to store approx 95 images a day to use up the max capacity in 6 months. I don't know what sensitivity you have the trigger set to or how busy the area you are covering is. So lets say you aren't recording the max, and we plum for 40 images a day then the fully charged device would have approx 7,200 images before the battery died and the second one 4,200. So I'll go for 11,400 total. :)

Like your way of thinking fella and my original thoughts were the same. However the results are already in (above) with 2,752. While amazed at the low number, I will say that they are in quite secluded spots and there are pretty much no false triggers with roe, muntie, fox, badger, squirrel, pigeon and a lairy cock pheasant gracing the images. No big cats though

Mrs laptop is Donald at the moment but will put up some pics when I get the chance. Got some great pics of two muntie bucks having a row.:thumb:
