Hi, got a birthday coming up and could do with new trail cam.
I want something that I can WiFi/ Bluetooth upload photos to my phone. Doesn’t have to be live link and I definitely don’t want the monthly subscription.
Just doing a bit of a Google search there seems to be thousands of options and sub, models within every brand .
Thanks

I'm not familiar with the 5. The 7 has a screen that shows what the lens sees. App is free and subs allow receiving a photo on phone.

So am I correct in saying the app is free to your phone but you have to pay a subscription to receive pics please ?
Close.

To receive photos to your phone you either:
  • Take out a subscription
  • Buy a PrePaid bundle of credits
The following link detail the options and prices:
You can combine Subscription and PrePaid, in case more pictures are sent than are included in your subscription.

Thanks for the info.
My understanding is that the HIK M15 app is free to your phone and so are still pics, but you do have to pay a subscription if you want video to your phone.

Using Secacam 5, works fine- I do pay for photos as cheaper to get photos direct to phone then driving to the ground 45 mins away.

Spypoint send photos to a free app on your phone using the multi carrier LTE network, I am on the free plan that gives you 100 photos every calendar month, no subscription whatsoever.
You can of course upgrade to various plan levels depending on your requirements.
The camera will continue to capture past your limit and stores them on the SD card.

Does free plan give you videos as well?

This is the quality of the thumbnail that gets sent to your phone, however the camera stores it to the card in HD.

The camera would ideally have a loudspeaker so that I can shout at the sheep to f*** off.

Do you have a subscription or is it a free app that zeiss have?
Is the secacam 5 a big step down?
The 5 is a pretty decent camera, main difference is you can line up the 7 and see the screen at the same time, but that's no biggie IMHO.
Both come with a built in SIM that will connect to any network and use the same free app that gives you 100 pictures per month before you need to subscribe to receive them over the cellphone net work.
They will still save your photos and allow you to manually download them if you don't want to pay a subscription.
