Trail camera

Hi all, I’m looking for a new trail camera for deer foxes and 2 legged vermin. My current camera is a cheap e-bay camera which works ‘when it feels like it’. It was probably ok when I got it but it seems to be getting a little slow and I think the cold affects it too - old age comes to us all.

So I’m looking for a new camera. Covert is good ie 940nm, fast trigger time, reliable, good range (ir and detection) and an onboard screen to view any images/videos.
I’d prefer not to spend over £100 if possible - what would people recommend?

Hi Ttocs I recently bought an apeman 20mp in the Black Friday sales off of Amazon it was meant to be £60 but I got it for £35. Obviously hasn’t stood the test of time yet but I checked it the other week and I am impressed with its performance, ease of use and build quality at that price. You can play back on it as well.

The estate I work on has bought Victure HC300 cameras. Don't know specs but I do know that they work really well day and night. 20 mp I believe, can't fault them. Camera, batteries and charger about £90 a pop I think.

I bought a couple of the Victure wildlife cams from Amazon. Less than £30 each. My brother in law sent me footage both day and night of red, munties, badgers, foxes, roe and squirrels in his garden (well it's quite big garden). I figured, hey, let's give them a go. I've been staggered at the function and quality. I'd suggest if your budget is £100, buy 3! Response time is excellent, sound is good, pic quality is more than adequate. I see they're about £40 now taking a peek at Amazon, but still a bargain. I'd like to link them to a solar panel if I could and just leave them up on our estate with a huge card in. I'd really like one of the GSM ones that sends the pics and alerts to your phone.

If you want quality pictures/video then Reconyx are very good with a very long battery life too.

I can recommend Browning, I have two variants and I'me very happy with both. But would recommend upping the budget towards £150.
