Kildermorie is a traditional Highland deer forest comprised of over 19,000 acres of mixed upland habitats. Management is habitat focused in order to deliver first class deer stalking in both open range and woodland settings plus salmon and trout fishing and grouse shooting over pointers. The successful applicants will be trained in all aspects of upland deer management, gamekeeping and estate maintenance. Each will work as part of a small, close-knit team reporting to the Head Stalker, working alongside the Under Keeper and another Trainee Stalker in a remote but welcoming estate community.

The position is not affiliated with any college program, but time will be taken away from Kildermorie to work alongside colleagues in different parts of the industry to ensure that a broad spectrum of skills and experience are gained.

Duties / experience will include;
  • Open hill and woodland deer management
  • Traditional stalking with guests
  • Working and care for stalking ponies
  • River and loch fishing for salmon and trout
  • Habitat improvement & predator control
  • Improving grouse stocks for shooting over pointers
  • Estate maintenance
  • Use and maintenance of ATVs, plant and machinery
Candidates will be expected to work to a high standard in all weathers and sometimes for long hours. An excellent remuneration package including additional certificated training, wet weather clothing / PPE and shared accommodation is provided.
