Yes rifles are the most popular.

The law allows you to use bolt action, semi auto rifles and shotgun slugs.
I personaly find semi auto shotguns equipped with a well zeroed iron sights or red dot works well in most terrains in Turkey. They have more stopping power than any regular rifle.

But, unfortunately not the range of a rifle and a lot of the terrain, not all, but most of the drives are over open ground.

If you take shoots over a hundred metres to running animals they are not doing it right. You should be shooting them ideally around 50-60 metres max ranges while animals are being driven towards you.
As being Turkish who has attended numerous wild boar organizations in almost all regions of Turkey, I would say a regular driven boar syndicate in Turkey, rifleman over slug shooter rate is max 10%.
