Hi All I'm planning on going to Turkey this year to shot driven boar. I normally use 180g norma oryx but I'm finding them hard to find locally any suggestions on alternative rounds?

I’m a big fan of 180gr Norma Oryx too. If you can’t find them then maybe look at 165gr Nosler Accubond or Swift Scirocco which are also excellent. This is assuming you handload?

I used 150 whatever I could get hold of for years but in recent years I have been using any 180gn Norma or Winchster but PPU 180gn have also been very successful both by me and several others that I have been with.
Most Boar in Turkey are taken over much longer ranges than European countries so nothing heavier is advised.

"Find harder". IF you're talking about getting few boxes for your trip.

No point in trying something new, it will take few boxes to test, feel confident and zero. On the other hand, if you're talking about making a switch to another make/model, research what's available locally and then ask for opinions/experiences based on those choices.

Are you reloading, or buying factory ?

I have Oryx in 165, 180, and 200gn, a sealed box, plus most of a second box, in each. I'll have a count up if interested.

I've been using 180gn hornady interbonds for the last three years on driven boar in France with my 30-06. I find the bonded bullets hold together well on big boar and group very well.

Boar vary hugely in size - youngsters are often really quite small. But then you have a large Keiler.

As others have said, choose a tough well constructed bullet. A boars vitals are well protected within the forward part of the body and bullet has to punch through skin, fat and bones.

Bullet construction is far more important than pin point accuracy.

Most ammo boxes or literature will tell you whether the bullets and ammo are suitable for boar.

Norma Oryx is almost perfect for this task, however any 180gr SP driven to 760-820ms works on boar. They are not bulletproof! Do not use fast and frangible bullets.

Boars in Letonia seem to dislike similar bullets than in Spain. I rather use a standard SP round than anything much tougher and always avoid frangible ones. With high adrenaline sometimes they took shots to die who knows where. Hornady Interlock in 180gr is my actual choice. Have also used Nosler Partitions with good results.

I reload all my ammunition by my own, of course for the 30-06 too.
For your hunt I will recommend Lapua Mega SP E416, 185 gr. or Nosler Accubond 180gr. SP. Flawless on boar, deer and moose. My own experiances.

The biggest boar I have shot with my 30-06 was a 160 kg. The bullet was a 165 grn. Sierra gameking. 200 metres and it was recovered 20 metres from were it was shot.

Low price good goal, Don't use balls with very high CB, they are long and burst on the surface

This is entirely dependent on the design and intended use of the projectile.

There are several lines of bullets, from both mainstream and boutique manufacturers, that have high BC and do work well in large game. Maybe even better than some stout alternatives, since in driven hunt the trend is towards bullets that give good instant effect and still penetrate.

Not that it's a new thing in countries like Germany, but when non-lead was pushed to use the initial offerings were behaving differently to existing choices. So even big names started researching and offering bullets with desired effect. If you're feeling bored, have a play with e.g. RWS selector and see how different products are recommended for different uses (of course they have overlap)
