That’s why the government turns a blind eye, they’re making a healthy percentage off their ill gotten gains.

You can also add hand car washes to that list, loads of them around my area and they only ever seem to be washing the same expensive cars every time I pass by.

Coincidentally in the last couple of weeks I have witnessed two separate youths openly selling drugs to kids, called the police and they couldn’t care less.

This is what I also believe. To wash illegal paper money by disguising it as money in cash paid for haircuts and barbering so it can then be paid in to a bank account and become thus laundered.

And then paid tax on ? Clean money for the gangster and tax revenue for the government, and people ask why the authorities don't shut them down !

The ones by me are always busy, they do good cut for the price.

Most of the lads are from South Kurdistan/Northern Iraq, very pleasant to chat to about their culture, homeland, the food they're looking forward to for their religious holidays.

When back in the uk in September my son said there were now about 11 barbers in the small town, I drove through every day and never seen a customer, apparently all run by Turks, took the hire car to a car wash before returning it, 11 staff working on two cars for 15 minutes, 30 quid, you do the sums, no cars behind us.

Thirty quid for a gang of four or five for 15-20 minutes work, that's expensive!
Around here the charge was £7 for a car to be washed until fairly recently, but has probably gone up slightly since.
Even the Chief Constable made public comment at one time about the low cost and the number of persons involved and how it couldn't possibly make economic sense if everything was above board and legitimate.

Lots of locals use these so called Turkish Barbers, and forgo the homegrown barbers who have been established for years and now face a ridiculous amount of competition. Crazy.
