Tweedl Longthorne shotgun

Well I bought a ticket a few months back £19.99 or something and shortly after read a couple of posts on here about it’s a scam no one ever wins or no one knows of anyone that’s won etc etc etc.
So I thought I would set things straight and do a little review at the same time.
yes I bought a ticket and yes unbelievably I won the gun, which I’ll be honest I normally never win bugger all, got the call from Sam at Tweedl and couldn’t believe it.
Couple of days later rang Longthorne guns to give them my measurements for the stock and spoke to Jim (Mr Longthorne) and he invited me to go down and have a custom fit session for the stock and to choose the stock style I preferred.
well what can I say I jumped at the opportunity and went to the Longthorne factory, I met Jim and the Longthorne team and he gave up a full morning showing me the different stocks and the piece of wood he had chosen for my gun along with chatting about Longthorne guns etc.
I got to watch the stock being shaped on the cnc machine and had a in-depth fitting session with Jim a very knowledgeable chap and just a nice guy.
I did somehow end up doing a little video for Tweedl as Johnny Carter was there so he took some footage, another very nice chap although he made me feel even shorter than I am.
on top of this whilst there Jim then gave me the option to choose barrel length, fixed or multi choke barrel rib, recoil pad and stock finish.
A bit of a whirlwind of decisions but an absolute fantastic opportunit.
Since then I have been waiting patiently or not so patiently if you ask Elaine, Jim’s wife as I kept pestering her to see how it was coming along.
Well finally after what as felt like a lifetime I got the call from Northallerton shooting to say the gun was there, many thanks to Craig at Barbury shooting for sending it.
Now what can I say it was my dream gun and I had shot one around 6 years ago but couldn’t afford one but hoped one day I might, we’ll never on earth thought I would win one for £20 but I guess that someone has to win it and if you don’t enter and just bitch about it you’ll never win it.
Back to the gun, it is absolutely gorgeous and fits and handles like a dream, it Is just a stunning piece of engineering and craftsmanship and I’m just looking forward to shooting it as much as I can.
So once again many thanks to Sam at Tweedl, Jim and Elaine and all the guys at Longthorne
, Craig from Barbury and the team at Northallerton shooting all great guys.
I will say though how many gun manufacturers can you pick up the phone and speak to the owner and the guy that built and designed your gun, and it’s British.

Well done and beautiful gun you have to last a lifetime.
Get some days booked at Bettws Hall to put it to good use

You jammy ba---- Lovely man...

Has it made you an instantly better shot? ;) Gorgeous gun that, loved watching Jonny's videos down there showing how they built them too. Been told they even made true left hand versions of their guns

Haven’t had chance to shoot it yet but reckon on look pretty dapper when I’m missing though 😊, if I ever come into a bit of cash think my wife will be ordering a left handed one. It’s amazing how much stuff he has just kicking about the factory, stocks of all shapes and sizes, barrels, actions test fit guns etc you can see Jim’s mind just never stops.

If it wasn't for the fact that they're based in England (and I couldn't give up being able to nip up to the Tay for a cast every other saturday) I'd have tried for one of his apprentice jobs. The factory does look incredible, credit to the industry IMO.

Well there’s another chance to win a Longthorne if you go on Tweedl, I have no connection with Tweedl but for winning a prize so just letting you all know and good luck to all.

Right first of all I'm not a jealous fella, but this has been eating away at me since Tuesday when you first put this up. So like I say I'm not a bit jealous. What I can't understand is how a beautiful gun that has its origins in sunny Lancashire could end up on the wrong side of the hill in Yorkshire Land. I might have mentioned that I haven't go a jealous bone in my body, but this is just sacrilege l liken it to giving cherrys to porcine. If you offered the gun to me for free I would have to decline the offer because not being a jealous fella or envious type. I would really only take it off you if you insisted as not being a jealous type so I could help you out. It's the least a Lancastrian could do, as long as you dropped it off.😇😇

It might be the wrong side of the hill for you my good man but it’s the right side for some of the finest game shooting known to man, unfortunately I don’t have the income for that kind of shooting but who knows may be one day.
your offer is very kind but I don’t want to have to force you into anything,
I guess I’ll just have to soldier on and try not to hold it against Jim and Elaine for living on the wrong side of the country😉
