two rifles same caliber

i've really started to filter away from it. had 900 "friends" went through it and deleted a load of them. down to like 80 and still think "ya know what, do you really give a **** about these people either?" bain on my life. posted a deer i shot (first one was proud) and the abuse i got lol - soon weeded those people out.

I have 2 x .22 Lr on my ticket for vermin and target plus a .22 WMR for the same plus Fox.

I've also got .308 & 6.5x55 and have just yesterday applied for a second 6.5 x 55 as I want a 6.5 rifle that is more suitable for target, may argument being that the second swede will allow me to use the same reloding consumables (exc. expanding bullets) and my overall ammo holding won't need to go up. plus my 30" barrel .308 isn't ideal as a back up stalking rifle no matter how accurate it is!

I'll let you know how I get on in a few days....

Cheers Boydy - dont really care that much if i have to give up the Sako - will miss it (great shooting gun for the money) just would like to hold onto it for those horrible days you are out and its pishing with rain alllllll dayyyyyyy lol. id just use the money on the sale of it for a scope for the Sauer if i have to trade it in. But prefer to hold onto it

Had a good chat with my new FEO Wednesday, he gave the nod no worries at all, it seems the only problem I am going to have is finding a Varmint stainless synthetic rifle with a 24" barrel without waiting 6 months - will give me time to save up at least!

If you go for a 24" Tikka, it will have to be threaded after purchase, voiding the warranty.

The Home Office Guidance to the Police makes mention of a second rifle as back-up; that is sufficient as good reason. That aside, different quarry may well require different set-up: action, barrel length, sights - all valid reasons for a second rifle.

Besides - you can never have too many rifles - its called being a collector!

Good Luck
