Hi all,
I have a predicament.
About 15 months ago I bought some Harkila Pro Hunter Icon trousers from John Norris, naturally with the 5 year warranty. As it happens they were on sale at the time.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago they began leaking heavily at the thigh/knees, so emailed John Norris and sent them back as advised with what I wanted as an exchange as the Icon isnt made anymore.
Anyway, John Norris wont exchange the trousers for an equivalent "Pro Hunter" model without me paying the difference between the price the trousers are now at their shop and the price I paid at the time, ~£90 (as I said it was on sale).
Am I missing something? If I buy a pair of trousers with a 5 year warranty (irrespective of the price I paid), should I reasonably expect to have these trousers be replaced with an equivalent item should they become faulty?
I bought the trousers for the main reason that they had 5 year warranty, with the idea that if I did have an integral fault that I could have them exchanged free of charge, not charged extra!
What would happen if I paid the extra £90, got the new trousers, they become faulty in a year, and then the trousers go up in price again and I have to pay £90 again??
Am I missing something? Please help!
