Silver tipped foxes in the UK are a farmed fur colour, there's not an illogical chance this was someone's "pet" and or a descendant of an escapee

Cool critter regardless, and obviously a problem as well.

Highly unusual.

Stunning animal regardless, definitely a silver fox or hybrid. Done a bit reading just now as I’d never seen one. Could be a wild one right enough.

There is a family of these black foxes not too far from me in Halifax, one of them got hit by a car last year but unfortunately I was too late to get to it and it was claimed straight away

Guess taxidermy success will depend greatly on the calibre he shot it with & how big an exit there is on the other side!

That is really interesting a keeper friend of mine down south told me he saw a similar coloured fox some years ago but we both assumed it was an escapee ,

A beauty! I once saw a program on the origins of domestic dogs, they visited a Russian fur farm, were they claimed after a few generations of captive foxes the foxes changed appearance, not dissimilar to this picture. I once shot a large dog fox that was two toned, light blue silver & red underneath. I kept an Australian cattle dog at the time, a Blue Healer. I did wonder whether he had got across a vixen!

Cattle dogs are hardly a domestic dog, they have dingo genes which may also contain Indonesian Timberwolf, but yes I get your point.
