Variation lancs

Evening all, has anyone currently got a variation in with lancs or had one recently, i sent one in the 5th of May, I gave them a call in the week to ask where I was upto, basically got told we have it, you'll get it when you get it, we're busy.
Surely it can't take this long what's everyone else's experience with them and would it be fair to complain or am I just putting myself under a spotlight for them to say no to my variation?

My experience was just prior to the “busy” period starting again. So I had a relatively short wait. Basically it was explained to me that you go in the queue and as your turn comes up they will get in touch if needed. Once they are ready to send it out they ask you to send your old ticket in. Once received they send you your new one.
The “busy” period relates to those who have had a ticket long enough to have been three years not five. So they have two quieter years.
Why they don’t anticipate and hire staff accordingly I can’t tell you.

I sent my ticket in with my variation as that what I did last time I did it, didn't realise I needed to wait for them to ask for it, this is half the problem I've no ammo and need some for a stalk I've planned plus range days. It's frustrating more than anything and more so now I know I should have kept my ticket. My fault that part, but I've learnt for next time

Think yourself lucky you actually had a reply, I'm northants and it was 6 months.
I sent mine in straight away as that what I was told to do and didn't need it.
A friend didn't send his in and it was 10 months for a like for like on a moderator.

I did the online form but deliberately didn't send in my ticket, as there was nothing stating I should. It also meant I could still buy ammo/primers etc if required. I only sent it in because I was asked for it. However despite the form being digital the law does still require you to return the FAC. The manner it was done makes sense. You can still get your ammo etc, the FLD don't get as many nagging emails or calls. The law is still followed.
i got a variation done in 3 days before Christmas 2025 through Lancs police
I was told specifically to get mine in just after Christmas to beat the busy period. The FEO said they were getting caught up when we spoke in mid December but it took me a bit longer to get sorted before I could put mine in.
