Variation Time - Avon and Somerset

Could have written it better. Put in for a variation at the beginning of June. It was granted and FAC returned after 7 weeks. So 4 weeks of June and 3 weeks (1 week short of the 4 that makes up July) to completion. All figures are approximate except the 7 weeks.

Had one in October, think it was around a month….which is what they’d told me it would be. Pretty impressed with A&S to be honest.

I’ve just had my .308 variation approved. 10 weeks exactly from payment to phone call approving the caliber. Probably 12 weeks total from me posting licence to receiving it back.

tvp appear to be 6 weeks plus <mine has been in six weeks and still waiting .<i was told up to four weeks by tvp firearms dept>

It is usually between 4_8 weeks
Just stock up on amy ammo you may need before sending it in
Avon and somerset are good to deal with

They were very helpful with my sons renewal and addition. That was Autumn last year. New certificate was returned the week before old one expired.

I submitted a variation to Avon and Somerset on the 11th Dec and I'm hopeful I'll get it back before the end of Jan. The last variation I submitted took just over 5 weeks. When I rang the office I was told approx 2-3 week for a 1-4-1 otherwise approx 6-8 weeks. I know Christmas/New Year holidays will obviously delay things a bit but I'm still hopeful it'll be back before the end of Jan.
