is anyone using the nosler varmageddon? how do you guys find them vs the normal ballistic tip or v max etc?

I use the 70gn Varmageddons and 70gn Ballistic tips in my .243 for foxing. Both equally good but the BT shows an exit wound where the VG rarely exits. The only difference to me is a ring left on the VG when seating the bullet but that’s down to the very thin jacket and doesn’t seem to affect the performance at all.

The Varmegeddon bullet is a thin jacketed bullet that is very destructive.

I changed from 50g Vmax to 53grain Varmegeddon in the .222rem some time ago. It is a better bullet in my view for my needs. It is more accurate in my rifle, it is cheaper and it absolutely destroys what it hits. The Vmax was no softy by any means but the Varm is a better bullet in my view.

I also use the 70's in 6mm as well when the wind is blowing. Same result, just a bigger bang and the boxes weigh a bit more.

I use 55g Varmageddons in my 223 and 70g in my .243 and very happy with accuracy and terminal performance. Only tried them when I ran out of V-maxs but prefer them now. Cheaper too so means more shooting which is always a good thing.

I’m using 55g varmegeddon in my .222 and really like them. Cant compare them to anything else in that weight as I have only tried lighter. But certainly no complaints here.

I use 32g varmageddons in my .204 and they work just nicely. Foxes drop dead and there's little or no fur damage.

Used them in both 17 and 22 cal and they are excellent.
Can't complain about the V Max I changed from, but the varms were better priced and very consistent in terms of weight variation in the same box.
Very easy to reload.

in my 17 Hornet I could not get good results with the 20grain Varmagedons but 20 grain V max work

in my 223 40 grain varmagedons work well as do 53 grain. I however prefer the 53 grain V max. I think its the boat tail design

Pricing; This is interesting as it depends if you shop around. Vmax can be cheaper than varmagedons and sometimes it the other way round.

so quick search: 53gr Vmax in .224 cheapest £21.50 to £31.50 for the same bullet

53 grain Varmagedon in .224 cheapest £25.25

.224, 55gr are very accurate in my .223. Hard to find at the moment though
