Vicariously enjoy the morning with me...

Just a wander around the farm this morning.

No Jeep to get stuck.

No spinner to fail.

No firearm to fret about.

No dog to chase the birds.

Just me, my stick and hand-scattering the wheat from the feeders.

Just in case you are stuck inside today - I hope you enjoy seeing on film, what I saw this morning.

Nothing spectacular, just the English countryside; which is of course spectacular.

Simple pleasures that I must remember to never take for granted.

What I also saw (and did not photograph) was plenty of pheasants still floating about.

We have finished our 'formal' five days of this season - I will be having a walk-up day next week with the Farmer, one of the Guns and a chap who turned out most days with his ESS to help in the beating line.

It would be nice if we got into 'double figures'. I will let you know how it pans out.

Apropos this.

I also extended the invite to my son. Sadly he is only available on Sundays between now and the 1st February.

He was not happy when I explained the laws of Game Shooting to him...🤯

Thanks for posting these pictures, which county is this? Broad landscapes, different to here in the Welsh Marches

We’ve far too many pheasant left on our patch, failure of my guns to shoot well and failure of the weather to get properly cold has meant they’re all floating about in places I don’t want them ( hedges, fields, etc….. two shoots left to enjoy
