I found your forum while researching field performance on Hornady ELD-x vs SST in 6.5 cal. Found a post that did a excellent job describing the difference in the bullet construction. I joined because I enjoy reading hunting/shooting articles by people with different conditions and cultures. Everybody has a different perspective.

I don’t hunt a lot and usually its for Whitetail from a stand or ground still position. My local terrain is hilly/mountainous and heavy forrest, 150 yards is a long shot just due to visibility. I’ve been reloading for 30 years with a Dillon 550 and Rock Chucker but 4 years ago I got a Forster Co-ax and thats all I use now. My hunting rifles are CZ 452 in 22LR, Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel, Tikka T3‘s in 6.5x55, 308, and 30-06. I have a sporterized M1896 I bought many years ago that started my love affair with the 6.5 Swede and bought the 30-06 in case I wind up in Alaska and need to lob 220 grain Partition’s at Grizzly bears.

Thanks for access to your Forum.

Welcome to the site. I shoot the SWEDE T3 Lite. When I switch to my 700 Rem 30.06 it never fails to Wake me up with its recoil and make me smile. What the 220gn would do I will never' know?

Welcome to the site from Herefordshire. Which part of Georgia are you from. I have a son that lives in Gwinnett County.
I started out in a little town in the mountains, Hiawassee. Was raised in Woodstock, Cherokee Co when that was a really nice small town/community. I‘ve lived in Coweta Co the last 25 years, easy commute to the Atlanta Airport, where I worked in A/C Mtc for Delta.

Welcome from North East Pennsylvania! I live in the Pocono mountains and also hunt whitetail.

The conditions you describe are pretty much the same as I have here - although I guess you have warmer weather for at least some of your whitetail season, and fewer "hunters" from NY and NJ trying to share your deer.....

I used Delta very often to visit with my best mate in Walhalla SC then he gave me his 1903-A3 which I then had to process through the terminal, I almost missed the plane but the rifle did not so the pilot returned from his taxiing to pick me up as it was easier than finding the item in the hold. I shudder at the fuel wasted for that.
