Vortex Scope Problems and Warranty Query

Hi All,

I've just got a rifle second hand with a vortex viper scope, after shooting the rifle for the first time this weekend up at Eskdale Muir we discovered the reticle isn't tracking at all windage and diagonally on the elevation plane.

This is not a major issue as the scope has vortex lifetime guarantee but the scope is in moa and sfp and I was wondering if anyone had ever been abit cheeky and asked vortex to swap to ffp or mil when getting a new scope through the warranty if it cant be fixed? (I know its unlikely)

Secondly, Anyone that's had to do a warranty with them before in the UK, what is the rough turnaround times etc. I'm not being impatient I just want to roughly know for future comps and events to tot up if its just worth buying another scope to use while its away.

I have a pair of Diamondback binos and sent them off as one eye cup was playing up. I bought them through Rifle craft originally and think it was about 3 weeks before I got them back.

If your scope is an older model they will likely replace it so you may be able to get a slightly different one, price depending.

I had a scope replaced even though it was no longer made. and a discussion with importer about what I needed from the scope and then had to wait for a replacement from US as none available in UK at the time.... took 2 weeks for them to check scope over and say knackered and then 18 days to get scope to me. in the circumstances I was more than happy

Hi,
I sent one back and there was a failure of the scope. They were due to send a like for like replacement but allowed me to change to MoA from Mil with no additional charge as they are the same cost.

Turnaround wise, I posted Monday, they recieved tuesday, reviewed it Wednesday and by 5 had agreed to send replacement unit. There was a small delay while waiting for a shipment but got my new scope about a month later a day or so after their shipment arrived.
