Waiting for my variation

Hello all
I’m just waiting for my variation to come through the door.
Variation is for a 6.5mm creedmoor/mod.

I’ve already got two tikka t3’s, so probably going to get a third. Mod will probably be a 3rd ase Sl5i

The t3’s come in varying barrel lengths 20,22,24 inches, which would be the best for stalking purposes whilst getting the most out of the cartridge?
I will be home loading for this rifle, with non toxic bullets. I’m thinking of using barnes ttsx 120gn.
This will be my first time working up a load with non toxic. Can any one start me off with what powders work well in the 6.5cm with non toxic?

Previously with the 223 I’ve used fed small rifle primers vhit n133/ 55gn vmax. 243 fed large rifle primers vhit n160 100gn Sierra prohunters.

The non toxic load developed looks like it may cost more than lead to find a satisfying load, any pointers will be much appreciated.

I’d buy the longest barrel you think is acceptable to stalk with, squeeze every bit of speed out of it that you can.

Probably depends on bullet, my .280 destroys muntjac at 200 yards plus. Switch to copper (yew tree) and the retain their front legs and gralloch in places even if shot at 30 yards
Funny you should say that - have just got some yew tree to work up.

What speed are you shooting them at?

Did you find them seating depth sensitive?
I had a day with Richard (Mr. Yewtree) last year.

He recommends to seat them well off 'jam' - so start with 50/1000ths" - and then incrementally further, until you find a suitable node.
