WalkedUp

Well-Known Member
Good morning, I have been a long time member on another UK based field sports forum have been recommended to join The Stalking Directory. I understand that an introduction is required for new members, so here is little about me.

I shoot every week and most of my spare time is spent in the field one way or another. I run Weimaraners. Currently I stalk, decoy, wildfowl and driven game shoot but my passion is walked up shooting over dogs. Excluding air rifles, I have only ever bought one gun new, the rest I have been gifted or acquired through chance.

marsh gun is an old Baikal side by side
hide gun is a lovely 1970s Beretta A300
driven game gun is a Beretta Prevail
walked up guns are both Aya Yeomans
barn gun is a hushpower .410
rabbit gun is a BRNO Model 2 in .22LR
lamping gun is a CZ455 in .17HMR
fox gun is a Marlin X7 in .223REM
deer gun is an old Parker Hale in .308WIN
boy’s gun is a little cut down folding .410
garden gun is a .177 BSA ultra JSR
squirrel gun is a .22 AirArms S410

I have a slot for a .22WMR semi auto and a .270WIN.

I was curious to look up my introduction, as a relatively new member. Since joining the stalking directory I’ve taken my DSC1 and added:

Sako 85M .270” WIN
Tikka T3 .308” WIN
Sako M591 22-250 REM
Remington 597 .22 WMR
Anschutz Model 54 .22LR
Ruger 10/22 .22LR

I probably need to sell one or two of my older guns as the three safes are full and the gun room itself is getting tight!

I think it would be a good idea for all members to do a reintroduction from time to time.
Don't think I'd even fired a rifle when I joined, let alone ever seen a deer outside of a zoo!
This site has a lot to answer for!

I have really enjoyed learning more about stalking, cartridges and equipment over the past couple of years. I have met some great people and benefitted from substantial generosity of the community. There is a huge amount of knowledge and experience on here, whilst I have shot for 27 years I discovered entire fields of the sport I had no awareness of. The more I learn the more naive I feel!
