Waterproof Boots

I recently purchased a pair of John Norris supposedly waterproof boots which lasted less than a month before they started leaking.
I took these back to Norris’s and swap them for Hoggs of Fife boots, these again have started to leak after less than a month of use and will be returned.Suggestions please for a reasonably priced boot that doesn’t leak.

Lowa have just launched their new next-generation Lowa Hunter GTX Hi-200

As we had a forum supported rate on the previous version, I will work out some support on the HI-200 in the next few days.

My lowa boots have been superb.
Cheap but very good are grade 1 ex military hiax boots, but stiffer but excellent value, I paid 50 quid on eBay for mine.
My next pair will be ex military again, either hiax, altberg or iturri.

Stick to main quality brand hiking boots. Don’t wast money on cheap or specialist hunting brands.
Gortex is still the best lining material but yes will degrade over time measured in years not months. Leather outer most robust. Good sole with well proven design from Vibram.

Itturi have a look on eBay 👍🏻 . As a fencing contractor I wear these everyday and can’t fault them. I have bought them grade A USED also new . Just as an example, I also have 3 different types of Harkila 👎 . My ituri boots will run rings around them all , dry warm feet and for me extremely comfortable and a hell of a lot cheaper 😀👍🏻

Although not cheap unless you get them in a sale I cannot recommend my Zamberlan boots enough.
With regular treatment with their proprietary cream the leather is waterproof and in great shape after 3 years of winter use.

Ex Germany army Miendl black waterproof boots have been my go to boot for the last 5 years on the farm and shooting. Good grade 1's cost about £70 available on good old ebay . Just be aware they come up half a size smaller and they are the older boot, not the new crappy cheap made ones that loose their soles !!

I have a pair of altberg field and fell and a pair of Itturi wet and cold (made by Altberg I believe) . I have to say the Itturi's have been excellent whilst beating the last few weeks. Dry as a bone and warm. I bought them as Grade a on ebay for £60 delivered. The only thing I had to add was a more comfortable insole and I treat them with Leder Gris as recommended.

Karrimor sf cold wet weather boots also comparable to iturri cold weather weather boots, both issued. Karrimor sf not the same as Karrimor

Ex army Haix cold weather boots 4 years in still dry .
Stalking, beating and dog walking just use nikwax on them.
And about 70 quid a pair far cheaper than " brand" names.
Vss ,Tim my good friend put me on them glad he did .
